- The quantity and variety of data that Gravity Payments has to protect is “astounding.” This includes data that comes from merchant applications and online products that collect credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords and secrets.
- Other data loss prevention (DLP) products Gravity Payments had explored in the past had way too many false positives. This led to resistance among their security team, who didn’t trust these tools.

Other data security solutions couldn’t cut through the clutter
Before deploying MIND™, Gravity Payments had explored other data security solutions. What they soon discovered was that older legacy products couldn’t decipher between different levels of risks. “Just by nature of day-to-day activities, there’s a lot of data, and that data moves around a lot,” says Reinders.
“Some of those legacy products just didn’t seem to have an understanding of the way of the world. They hide information, or give you too much of it, then you have to dig through. They just give you information overload.” This was a real problem because employees felt harassed by false positives and the security team didn’t have confidence in those products.
